Originally completed in 1856 by the Grand Trunk Railway Corporation, now the Canadian National Railway Corporation, this viaduct crosses the Port Hope harbour just south of the later-built Canadian Pacific Railway viaduct. This is a lasting testament to the important convergence of water and railway traffic in the early development of Canada.
